Become a certified mri technician in Australia
To become a certified MRI technician in Australia, one must first complete a degree in radiography or medical imaging. This degree program typically takes three to four years to complete and includes both classroom instruction and clinical experience. During the clinical experience, students will have the opportunity to work with MRI machines and gain hands-on experience in the field.
After completing the degree program, individuals must then become registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This involves submitting an application and providing proof of completion of the degree program, as well as passing a criminal history check and meeting other requirements set by AHPRA.
Once registered with AHPRA, individuals can then pursue certification as an MRI technician through the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR). The AIR offers a certification program for MRI technicians that includes both written and practical exams. To be eligible for the certification program, individuals must have at least two years of experience working with MRI machines.
After passing the certification exams, individuals will be recognized as certified MRI technicians in Australia. It is important to note that certification must be renewed every three years through continuing education and professional development activities.
